Jersey Fairtrade Island Group
The group was started in 2003, to promote Fairtrade in Jersey.
In February 2005, Jersey was awarded Fairtrade Island status. The certificate was presented to the Deputy Bailiff, Michael Birt by George Alagiah, Patron of the Fairtrade Foundation, in December 2005.
The main focus of the work is Fairtrade Fortnight which is the last week of February and the first week of March. A variety of other events are also held.

In September, Harriet Lamb, Executive Director of the Fairtrde Foundation isn visiting Jersey to speak at "A Fair Feast' at the Town Hall on Tuesday 21st Sept and also speak to school 6th forms
