Jersey Oxfam Group
Jersey Oxfam Group has two parts:
Shop
The shop at 40 New St has been operating for over 35 years. It is open from 9.30 to 4.30 from Monday to Saturday. It raises over £120,000 every year for Oxfam through the sale of donated goods and special items such as Fairtrade goods and Christmas cards. The current shop manager is Mrs. Hazel Forrest. Campaign Group
This group meets regularly in the evenings, often at 6 p.m., to plan the promotion of Oxfam's campaigns. We have promoted Fairtrade, Arms Control and action on climate change for example. We are also available to speak about Oxfam to school and other groups. We regularly collect at ‘Jersey Live’. a major music event in Jersey every September. We are keen to work with other groups to raise the profile of Overseas Aid and Trade Justice issues among the Jersey public.
